Welcome to my online portfolio! My name is Laura Marks and as far as I can tell, I was born with a passion for photography!
I have found people to be the most interesting of subjects because they/we ALL have a story. Parts of us are revealed in our physical appearance, while other parts show and our actions and behaviors. Therefore, the goal is always to capture those pieces of you that are both familiar and unknown. The fleeting expressions as well as those acquired mannerisms which both reveal and belie just to we really are.
It’s generally the candid moments, similar to those we see in many publications, magazines, and television ads… The ones showing subjects in “relaxed“ poses, seemingly unorchestrated. That glimpse between two people, displaying a feeling of love…or admiration. Surprise...or admonition. That spark of sincere interest and captivation. Or simply friends and/or family surrounded by love, familiarity, and deep appreciation.
Therefore when shooting families, my goal is to offer you a personal treasure of memories; images deserving of their own spot in a book or magazine. Let’s create a gallery of images for you that will stop visitors in their tracks!
For events, I bring a keen eye for the unexpected. Photojournalism is my main style, catching both tradition and candor. Relaxed and tense moments. All of the flavors that we see in our real lives, revealing YOUR uniquely personal story!
